Description
The work entitled "Estache - Braque 1906" of the artist M.Chat (Thoma Vuille) is a writing screen printing of a format of 50 x 70 cm. Edited in 2021, it represents a bold and striking interpretation of the famous painting of Georges Braque entitled "L'Estaque", created in 1906.
At the forefront of the screen printing, in the lower left corner, the assured presence of a purring cat, an emblematic characteristic of the artist Mr Cat, immediately attracts the look. The cat is shown with a recognizable silhouette and an expression that transmits both relaxation and uniqueness. His presence in the work is a distinctive and affirmed brand of the artist.
The bottom of the work presents a captivating interpretation of the emblematic landscape of "the estaque" of Georges Braque. This famous Table of Braque represents the picturesque Mediterranean village of the Estaque.
In this bold interpretation, Mr. Chat replaced the two characters from Georges's original painting by two flowers. These flowers, by their shape and color bright, bring a floral and organic dimension to the composition. They contribute to the contemporary aspect of the work, while maintaining the balance and harmony of the landscape.
In his screen printing, Mr. Chat revisits this landscape with insurance and creativity, turning the work according to his own distinctive artistic style. This replay offers a new and contemporary perspective of the original Braque work, with visual elements and its own shades.
The edition of this screen printing is limited to a few copies, making it a work of great exclusivity. Each copy is numbered as "TP" (head draw) and is signed in the silvery metal ink board.
