Description
In Female, Guily Joffrin delivers an interpretation of an infinite grace of the female body, through a watercolour of rare delicacy. The fine and precise trait outlines the silhouette with a lightness that recalls Modigliani's drawings or Degas' intimate studies. The posture, both natural and introspective, evokes a suspended moment, where the model seems lost in a sweet dream.
The chromatic palette, reduced to pastel hues and lavis of beige and ochre, gives the whole an aerial softness. A few touches of color, placed on the fabric at the bottom of the composition, come to rhythm the scene and bring a discreet echo to the shades of the skin. The minimalism of the background accentuates the purity of the drawing and allows the gaze to focus on the subtlety of the lines and the fluidity of the movement. This work wonderfully illustrates Joffrin's talent for capturing femininity in what she has most intimately, between serenity and mystery.
