ROHNER Georges
ROHNER Georges - Lot of original 10 lithographs
€125.00
Georges Rohner:
Lot of 10 original lithographs striped on vellum paper.
Each test carries scratches directly drawn by the artist.
These visible marks are not defects, but a voluntary process. They report that the test is intended to block any new impression by making the matrix unusable. Thus, the scratches become a guarantee of authenticity and limitation of the draw. They also confer on each sheet a unique character, testifying to the control exercised by the artist on his work and on the end of the publishing process.

Description
Rare set of original 10 lithographs on vellum paper, all striped with a large "x" drawn directly by the hand of the artist Georges Rohner. This method is neither a defect nor an alteration, but a practiced practice, intended to mark the end of the draw: by making the matrix unusable, these tests become unique pieces, at the same time proof of authenticity and highlights of the control of the artist on the diffusion of his work.
Each sheet thus carries the voluntary stigma of this artistic decision, giving the whole an almost performative dimension. Far from being rebuts, these barred works become full-fledged collectibles.
