POLI Jacques
Jacques Poli (born July 1, 1938) is a French painter and painter. From 1960 to 1962, Jacques Poli studied at the École des beaux-arts d'Avignon, and from 1966 to 1966 at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris in the workshop of Roger Chastel where his fellow students were Claude Viallat, Daniel Buren, Niele Toroni, François Rouan, Vincent Bioulès, Michel Parmentier, Pierre Buraglio and Joël Kermarrec. Jacques Poli will be gathered by Gassiot-Talabot with Joël Kermarrec, Hervé Télémaque, Jan Voss among the supporters of the narrative figurative, then he will follow his own path. At the beginning Jacques Poli painted with a pistol on waxed canvases. After 1968, the return to painting involving the hand generates periods or series of paintings. 1974 is characterised by the use of industrial machinery. Then comes the series of "Insects", and then the model of European Baroque architecture, of which it retains only the details. In 1976, he became a professor at the École des beaux-arts in Rouen.
