RAFFLEWSKI Rolf
Rolf Rafflewski was a painter born in Hanau, Germany in 1943. He began painting at the age of 12 and his first personal exhibition took place only four years later. At the end of his art studies at the state academy in 1961, Rafflewski visited Paris, then fell in love with the city and settled there permanently. Paris - the elegant boulevards, lively quays and winding streets of Montmartre - provides the main subject of his paintings and lithographs. Over the past twenty years, Rafflewski has actively exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including San Francisco, Washington, Tokyo, Hawaii, Paris and New York. In addition to his numerous exhibitions, Rafflewski is known as collectors for the hundred original lithographs he created. In 1973, the Bibliothèque de Paris honoured Rolf Rafflewski with a personal exhibition.
