José Sabate aka EL PEZ is a Spanish artist born in 1976 in Barcelona. El Pez is known for its graffiti representing smiling fish of different colors, hence its pseudonym (fish in Spanish).

Who is EL PEZ (The fish in Spanish)?

José Sabate was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1976. He began graffiti in 1999 under the influence of artists like the Parisian André Saraiva. He thus met in Catalonia graffiti such as Chanoir, Nespo, .... Together, they made the Collective born 1980. For many years, PEZ has been exhibiting and painting around the world and spreading its DNA through its colourful and positivistic works. We can find Pez in the documentary film of Banksy"Exit Trough the gift shop" but also in collaborations with brands like Adidas, Toyota and Reebok.
