RAVO MATTONI Andrea
Biography of Andrea RAVO MATTONI
André Ravo Mattoni, born in 1981 in Varese, Italy, in a family of artists, was rocked from childhood by the world of art. From an early age, he became passionate about drawing, a passion that led him to explore the arts more rebelly through graffiti. In 1995, he adopted the pseudonym Ravo and began to leave his mark on urban trains and walls, testifying to his creative spirit and his desire to express himself freely.
His artistic quest led him to the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera in the 2000s, where he deepened his knowledge of classical arts while keeping a foot in the world of street art. This duality between the traditions of classical art and the contemporary forms of graffiti forges its unique style and artistic vision.
His career culminated in 2016, when he launched an innovative project combining graffiti with classical painting. André Ravo Mattoni began to recreate Renaissance masterpieces, such as those of Caravaggio or Vinci, on large urban walls. This approach aims to democratize access to art by leaving museums and making it visible to all in public space. This bold project earned him international recognition, reaffirming his role as a bridge between the artistic past and the present.
