Alfred Defossez, Colorist of the Mediterranean
Alfred Defossez is a French painter and lithographer born in Paris on November 11, 1932. Trained for many years at the Académie d'art moderne and the Académie Julian, he won the Young Painting Prize in 1956, which earned him his first solo exhibition in Paris.
An Enchanting Palette
Exhibited in France and abroad, Defossez loves to paint Mediterranean landscapes, bouquets, interiors, and the world of horse racing. His palette, composed of luminous and refined shades, imparts a softness and sensuality to his works that are immediately recognizable.
