The singular journey of a daring stencilist

Born near Rouen in 1990, French artist Dezache burst into the art scene with a singular approach and undeniable creative energy. Having started painting on canvas in 2006, he quickly turned to street art, creating a vibrant and fascinating universe at the crossroads of graffiti and comics.

Self-taught accomplished, Dezache, whose artistic work was often perceived as disturbing, faced a refusal to enter the École des Beaux-Arts at the age of 17. Far from discouraging him, this rejection has only increased his determination and creative desire.

Since then, he has started exhibiting in the gallery from 2012, constantly expanding his panel of techniques and media. It was in this process that he adopted the stencil method, adding a new dimension to his work.

The artist of everyday life

Dezache excels in the art of reuse. It recycles old objects, ranging from gas cans to old petrol pumps, to old school maps. It then superimposes images of iconic cartoon characters, such as The pink panther, Mickey Mouse, Asterix and Obelix, Picsou and Donald, creating unpredictable and unexpected encounters.

The Norman artist succeeds in giving a second life to these everyday objects, transforming them into unusual supports for his pop and colorful universe. It thus defies conventions, while reaching out to the widest possible audience, from young children to nostalgic adults.

A pop and committed universe

True to his mischievous style, Dezache is not content to play with the icons of pop culture. He also uses his art to portray American preeminence and its consequences, adding a critical dimension to his work.

In recent times, the artist has shown us his new acquisitions for his future achievements: old enamelled plates, old petrol pumps, vintage oil cans and even a door from Alpine A110. The new works from these findings promise to be as captivating as the previous ones.

We had the opportunity to meet Dezache this week. He unveiled some of his new pieces, which are now available on our website. His talent and creativity continue to impress us, and we look forward to seeing how he will reinvent these vintage objects in his next works.

Dezache continues to challenge artistic standards with his bold and original approach to street art. His passion for comics, his keen sense of colour and his ability to transform everyday life into works of art make him a prominent figure in the contemporary artistic scene.
