Description
With Notre-Dame, Paris, Jean-Pierre Laurent captures all the poetry and timeless elegance of the capital. This original lithography, printed on vellum paper in the format of 76 x 55 cm, testifies to the fineness of the trait and the sensitivity of the artist to architecture and light. Numbered and signed in pencil, it reveals a delicate look at one of the most emblematic monuments in Paris.
The composition, balanced and harmonious, features the cathedral seen from the banks of the Seine, framed by light shaded foliage. The reflection in the water, the detail of the facades and the softness of the sky give the work a peaceful and contemplative atmosphere. The use of soft tones, oscreous between green and blue, accentuates this feeling of quietness, peculiar to the urban landscapes of Laurent.
With Notre-Dame, Paris, the artist pays tribute to the architectural beauty and unique soul of the city, through a representation where the precision of the drawing dialogues with the fluidity of watercolour. An elegant and serene vision of Paris, imprinted with light and refinement.
