Description
Original lithograph on vellum paper, numbered and signed in pencil, format 65 x 49 cm.
Through this scene, Louis Amalvy transports us in the warm and luminous atmosphere of Provence. The artist depicts a landscape with solar hues, where a tree with bare branches stands in the foreground, contrasting with the hilly reliefs in the background. The sinuous path naturally guides the gaze towards the horizon, giving a marked depth to the composition.
The dominant colours, composed of golden yellows, intense oranges and touches of red, evoke the vibrating heat of the south and the ochre earth typical of Provençal landscapes. Nuances of blue and green subtly balance the whole, bringing a feeling of movement and changing light.
The expressive features and marked textures bear witness to the unique pictorial approach of Amalvy, where the artist's gesture gives the work a living intensity. This original lithography captures the very essence of the lands of the south, where nature, colors and light intertwine to offer a poetic and energetic vision of the Provençal landscape.
