Description
Michel DE GALLARD: Stroll in the Rain
Created in Michel de Gallard's spontaneous and expressive style, Stroll in the Rain is an original lithograph that sensitively illustrates a scene of daily life. Under a succession of umbrellas sketched with bold and nervous strokes, several silhouettes intersect in an atmosphere imbued with poetry and movement.
Here, the artist emphasizes the power of drawing over detail. The quick lines, black ink contrasts, and textural effects create an airy composition where emptiness plays an essential role. This economy of means, characteristic of Michel de Gallard's work, allows ample room for the viewer's imagination and enhances the emotion emanating from the scene.
The interplay of umbrellas, shadows, and silhouettes suggests an urban stroll under a light rain, transforming an ordinary moment into a composition of great graphic elegance. This free and spontaneous approach recalls the influence of the School of Paris, while evoking, through its graphic sensitivity and humanity, the universe of Jean Jansem or certain black-and-white works by Bernard Buffet, two major artists of French modern art.
Numbered, signed in the plate, and countersigned in pencil by the artist, this original lithograph offers a great opportunity to purchase a work by Michel de Gallard, discover an original lithograph from the School of Paris, or complement a collection alongside artists such as Jean Jansem, Bernard Buffet, Gen Paul, or André Minaux. An authentic work that will appeal to enthusiasts of modern art, drawing, and original prints.
