COPE2 - Original acrylic painting on canvas "Iconic Bubble, Pink" 77x144cm - 2026

With Iconic Bubble, Pink, COPE2 returns to one of the foundations of New York graffiti: the bubble letter, this style of writing with generous, rounded, and immediately readable letters that dominates walls with its visual effectiveness. On this large panoramic canvas measuring 77 x 144 cm, the lettering almost entirely occupies the space, as if it continues its course beyond the limits of the frame. The pink, inflated, and shiny volumes are highlighted by a strong blue outline that separates the letters from a light blue background. A few white highlights simulate reflections and give the shapes an almost liquid or plastic appearance. The deliberately tangy palette brings a joyful and resolutely contemporary dimension to a style of writing born from the streets. On the right side, the black-purple tag of COPE2 breaks the regularity of the forms: this more nervous gesture acts as a graphic signature, contrasting the spontaneity of the marker with the controlled construction of the monumental lettering.

This work takes on its full meaning in light of COPE2's journey, a historical figure of Bronx graffiti active since the late 1970s. His name and various letterings have accompanied several generations of the New York movement, from the time when graffiti developed on trains and walls to its entry into galleries and international collections. Iconic Bubble, Pink precisely preserves this street memory while adapting it to the language of canvas painting. It is not about artificially reproducing a wall but making the lettering itself the subject of the work: color, rhythm, and typography become painting. The large format further enhances this sense of immersion and restores part of the physical impact inherent in urban graffiti. With its pop aesthetic, bright colors, and vocabulary directly linked to the history of New York writing, this canvas is a particularly representative work of COPE2, immediately identifiable and endowed with a spectacular presence.

The work is presented framed in a black floater frame. Format without frame: 77 x 144 cm. Format with frame: approximately 83 x 150 cm.
