COPE2 - Original acrylic painting on canvas "Iconic Bubble, Orange" 83x146cm - 2026

With Iconic Bubble, Orange, COPE2 unfolds one of the most iconic languages of New York graffiti on a spectacular panoramic format: the bubble style. The monumental letters invade the entire canvas, to the point of seeming to extend beyond the frame. Incandescent orange and solar yellow stand out against an acid green background, while a thick black outline structures the volumes and provides them with the immediate readability typical of lettering designed to be seen quickly in urban spaces. The white highlights give the shapes a shiny, almost inflated appearance, complemented by circles, halos, and small graphic interventions. On the right side, COPE2 overlays his blue tag on the lettering: the gesture becomes quicker, more nervous and instinctive, like a direct reminiscence of the street. The contrast between the highly controlled construction of the letters and the spontaneity of this signature brings rhythm and tension to the composition.

A historical figure of Bronx graffiti, active since the late 1970s, COPE2 belongs to a culture in which the artist's name serves as both a signature, an identity, and the very subject of the work. Iconic Bubble, Orange directly extends this tradition of writing: it is not about representing something, but about transforming writing into an image. Having transitioned from the walls and trains of New York to canvas and galleries, COPE2 has retained this original energy while developing a painting style with decidedly contemporary qualities. Here, the chromatic intensity and the 83x146 cm format restore some of the physical impact of graffiti while giving the work an almost pop dimension. Luminous, dynamic, and immediately identifiable, this canvas thus concentrates several essential elements of his vocabulary: the monumentality of the lettering, bold colors, powerful outline, and the presence of the tag. A particularly representative work of COPE2 and the way the artist today engages the history of New York graffiti with contemporary painting.

The work is presented in a black floater frame. Size without frame: 83 x 146 cm. Size with frame (black floater frame): approx. 89 x 152 cm.
