Yvette ALDE (1911-1967) was a French painter. She was part of the School of Paris and, in this sense, represents everything that made the recognition of this period of Parisian pictorial activity. Yvette Alde's paintings are made of heightened material and colors. They are lyrical and poetic. This artist, who died too young, was highly regarded by her peers and critics for her very solid and personal painting. A student of Charles Picart Le Doux, she was a regular at the Salon d'Automne or that of the Painters Witnesses of their Time. Her portrait of the painter Soutine, acquired by the State, while not allowing one to realize her style, helps to understand her influences and the strength she was able to draw from them.
