Description
This original drawing by Jean Jansem, "Portrait of woman", illustrates with an economy of means all the subtlety and melancholy of the work of the painter and cartoonist of Armenian origin. Made in ink on paper, this 14 x 14 cm portrait reveals a mastery of the trait that characterizes the artist's work. A simple outline, Jansem manages to express a great psychological depth. Her subject, a woman with delicate features and a gentle gravity, seems suspended in inner contemplation. The compilation of the composition, which is based on a nervous and clean line, gives the work a striking timelessness.
The artist, faithful to his approach, gives here an elegant and poignant image of the female figure, a recurring theme in his work. Jansem has always been able to capture the essence of his models, giving them an almost spectral presence, where fragility and dignity come together. The signature at the top right brings an extra touch of authenticity to this delicate design, which also benefits from a refined frame signed DELF, accompanied by an anti-reflective and anti-UV museum glass, guaranteeing its preservation over time. This frame, of a generous size of 38 x 28,5 cm, highlights the subtlety of the line and the sensitivity of the work, making this portrait a valuable piece for graphic art lovers and Jansem's universe enthusiasts.
