copy of JANSEM Jean - Original lithograph "The Woman with the Linen" 76x55cm - 1966

Jean Jansem expresses all the delicacy of his artistic universe with Femme de dos, an original lithograph of great sobriety where the human figure becomes the focus of a profound reflection on solitude, silence, and introspection. Created on vellum paper in a format of 75 × 56 cm, this work depicts a woman sitting with her back to the viewer on a simple chair, her body slightly bent and her head inclined, her long hair covering her face. By deliberately avoiding any contact with the viewer's gaze, Jean Jansem emphasizes the universal emotion over the identity of the model. The composition is enhanced by a warm palette dominated by ochres, oranges, and earth tones, enveloping the silhouette in a soft, diffuse light. The drawing, reduced to a few fine, nervous lines, contrasts with the rich textural effects achieved through lithography, creating a work of great elegance where every detail contributes to an intimate and profoundly poetic atmosphere. This original lithograph is an artist's proof (EA VI/XXXV), signed in pencil by Jean Jansem, a rare edition particularly sought after by collectors.

Through Femme de dos, Jean Jansem demonstrates his exceptional mastery of contemporary figurative art by conveying intense emotion with remarkable economy of means. The absence of decor, the simplicity of the furniture, and the meditative posture of the character focus all attention on human fragility, a major theme in the artist's work. The play of transparency, subtle textures, and chromatic variations give this print a unique depth, where light seems to emanate from the figure itself. This work will appeal to modern art enthusiasts, fans of female portraits, original lithographs, works on paper, and collectors of Jean Jansem. Thanks to its status as an artist's proof, its handwritten signature, and the quality of its impression, Femme de dos is a rare and refined piece, ideal for enriching a collection dedicated to the great masters of 20th-century lithography, figurative art, intimate portraits, or original prints by Jean Jansem.
