Description
Jean-Marie Guiny's "Etalon" embodies the majesty and energy of the horse in a style that is both delicate and powerful.Through a subtle combination of flowing lines and meticulous details, the artist captures not only the animal's natural grace, but also its dynamic movement. The horse, whose forms are sketched with lightness and energy, appears almost suspended in the air, carried by a long mane that blends into a network of agitated curves, evoking a sensation of speed and freedom.
The engraving, made using traditional techniques, conveys a fascinating balance between abstraction and figurative. The background of the work, subtly embedded in warm tones, enhances the animal by bringing depth while maintaining the fluidity of the movement. The edition number and the artist's handwritten signature add a personal and unique dimension to the work, emphasizing its limited and precious character. This engraving is distinguished by its ability to combine the technical rigour of engraving and the pure emotion that the horse scene conveys in the middle of the race.
