Description
In this lithography entitled Bouquet francis Smith, a singular Portuguese figure of the École de Paris, transcends the floral genre by instilling an almost dreamlike dimension. Drawn by the Mourlot Frères workshops, this work on vellum paper finely blends realism and imagination, inserting a sumptuous bouquet of roses and zinnias in the heart of a night urban landscape. The balance is delicate between the botanical richness of the foreground, lush, living, almost tactile, and the panorama in the background, mysterious and structured by Iberian or Mediterranean architecture, bathed in unreal light.
