Description
This remarkable work by Claude Weisbuch, an artist known for the expressive power of his trait, represents a scene inspired by the Don Juan of Molière. The set proposed here consists of two inseparable elements: an original print drawn at the dry tip and its engraved copper plate, both signed.
The engraving is printed on an artisanal paper "Narcisse" from the stationery of the Moulin de Larroque, known for its noble texture and natural whiteness. The format of the sheet is 38 x 28 cm, and the test is numbered 9/18 and signed by Claude Weisbuch.
The copper plate, in the format of 29 x 20 cm, has been striked (redacted) after drawing, in accordance with traditional usages aimed at guaranteeing the limitation of publishing. It also bears the artist's engraved signature at the bottom right, reinforcing the unique character of this ensemble.
The ensemble offers a rare and precious vision of the engraved creation process: from metal work to the final print. A material and artistic testimony of the artist's gesture.
