CHAVANON Roger Louis
Roger-Louis CHAVANON is a painter, engraver, sculptor, medalist, graduate of the fine arts, born in 1941. After having been the witness artist of his time, of the greatest events and commemorations of the end of the 20th century, Chavanon, Painter-Engraver and Sculptor-Medalist, presents his recent pictorial works: Oils on canvas and drawings in red chalk. In this work, with renewed classicism and affirmed modernism, drawing remains the primary expression. The very personal line rhythmizes his painting and reveals the color, leading it into expressive volutes, with powerful calligraphic strokes. Original inspiration of women and animality in women, conceived in the greatest ambiguities. A gestural, sensual work of great virtuosity and synthesis, capturing a transfigurative and evolving vision. Renewal of the nude and bestiary. This work is only due to its own inspiration, free from any influence: directly from the cortex to the hand. He expresses his talent through both graphic design and volume, from the dimension of the monetary medal or jewel, to the sculptural ensemble or monumental fresco inscribed in a public building, from the statue to the art book, to lithography or engraving (drypoint and aquatint).
