Description
In Bouquet of daffodils, Bernard Buffet explores with a poignant sobriety the very essence of still life. This lithography, dated and signed in the board, is distinguished by the austerity of its composition and the dramatic intensity of its black line. The daffodils, with angular stems and bright yellow corollas, seem to spring from the vase with almost architectural rigour, reminding Flemish still lifes by their precision and imposing verticality.
