I have made several illustrations of waves over the years, because I admire their power and beauty. Wave surges and tide cycles appear to be an immutable pattern, but the health of the oceans is deteriorating in many places. The title "Vague of Distress" is intended as a warning. Distress means "suffering in a state of great distress.. If the oceans are in danger, the entire planet will face a wave of distress. The oceans regulate the climate and mitigate the effects of climate change; they are an essential habitat and a source of food for many species, including the human species. Besides the wave, I have integrated into the work patterns that create rhythmic harmony. It is essential to preserve this rhythmic harmony of the ocean. These prints remind us of the importance of respecting and restoring the oceans.

Description
This screen printing entitled Wave of Distress Tests once again the artistic and graphic commitment of Shepard Faisy. In this composition in two parts, the artist offers a powerful visual metaphor of contemporary tensions.
The upper part represents an immense and tormented wave, stylized in the manner of a Japanese engraving, whose force evokes both ecological disasters and social tumult. The water is made with remarkable graphical precision, each line seems to vibrate under the pressure of the movement.
In contrast, the lower part adopts a geometric organization composed of triangles, where mingle refined floral motifs and a black swan in the center, recurring symbol at Faisy. Red and blue respond in a chromatic tension game, evoking both the beauty of nature and its fragility in the face of human threats.
The whole, both aesthetic and engaged, reflects the singular visual universe of Shepard Faisy: between militant screen printing and decorative art, between the emergency of the message and precision of the gesture.
