" Hendrix Fire Letterpress " is a new interpretation of a portrait of Jimi Hendrix that I had created for my 50 Shades of Black box set.
I have been a fan of Hendrix since high school. After my "punk rock" period, I discovered in his music the same intensity and freedom. I love Are You Experienced, and especially "Fire", for its powerful, almost funky groove, and Jimi's incredible vocal presence.
His genius on the guitar is often remembered, but Hendrix was also a great singer and songwriter. He inspired me early on, even in my early artistic creations.
I have often used his image as a cultural icon, sometimes with a twist. This artwork, however, is a pure and sincere tribute! - Shepard Fairey

Description
Shepard FAIREY (OBEY) – Hendrix Fire, 2026
Original letterpress serigraphy on thick high grammage paper, measuring 33 × 25.5 cm.
The artwork is numbered, dated, and signed in pencil by Shepard Fairey at the bottom right. It also features a blind stamp (embossing) at the bottom left, a characteristic of this edition.
With Hendrix Fire, Shepard Fairey, also known as OBEY, pays tribute to Jimi Hendrix, a mythical figure in rock history and a true icon of American counterculture. The musician's portrait is at the center of a particularly intricate graphic composition, built around the iconic red, black, and cream colors of the artist's visual universe.
The image is accompanied by the lyrics "Let me stand next to your fire," a direct reference to Fire, a song that became emblematic of Jimi Hendrix. Shepard Fairey thus combines music, popular culture, graphic design, and militant aesthetics, recurring themes in his work since the early days of OBEY.
The letterpress printing technique gives this edition a special presence. The pressure applied during printing creates subtle reliefs and embossed effects in the paper, perceptible both visually and by touch. The thick paper and quality of execution further enhance the precious character of this serigraphy.
This Shepard Fairey serigraphy dedicated to Jimi Hendrix is a beautiful combination of street art, pop culture, and rock history. Its small size, print quality, handwritten signature, and letterpress reliefs make it a particularly attractive piece to frame.
Original limited edition artwork, numbered and signed by the artist.
Artwork certified by Galerie 125.
