Description
This original lithograph from 1982 illustrates Bernard Buffet's unique perspective on everyday objects. In this carefully constructed composition, the artist showcases a table adorned with bottles, glass, corkscrew, matchbox, and a Suze advertising ashtray, transforming these familiar elements into a particularly expressive graphic subject.
The bold and dynamic black lines structure the space with Bernard Buffet's characteristic rigor. Contrasts between the green, yellow, red, and black tones enhance the presence of the objects and give the whole composition a remarkable visual intensity. This artwork demonstrates the artist's ability to elevate the simplest scenes through an immediately recognizable graphic language.
Printed on vellum paper in the format of 58 x 76 cm, this lithograph is numbered and signed in pencil by Bernard Buffet. It is listed in the catalogue raisonné Bernard Buffet Lithographer, Volume 2 by Charles Sorlier under number 410, an essential reference for identifying the artist's prints. The artwork is also certified.
Through this still life, Bernard Buffet once again demonstrates his talent for revealing the poetry of everyday objects, while maintaining the graphic power and elegance that have contributed to his international renown.
